Product reviews can increase conversions by a staggering 270%. Additionally, product reviews are the third most influential ranking factor for Google’s local pack.

Product reviews are, therefore, very important if you’re to succeed as an eCommerce merchant because they help people who visit your store to have a glimpse of how your products served previous customers.

Given the importance of product reviews, merchants should be able to collect and display their reviews on whichever platform they list their products on to attract new customers.

So whether you’re listing your products on Amazon, Google, Etsy or Shopify, you need reviews to convince new buyers. Again, it should not be difficult if you want to move your reviews from one platform to another.

For instance, as a merchant, you may want to switch business from Etsy to Shopify for a varied number of reasons, or perhaps, you just want to expand your business to Shopify while keeping your Etsy store. When this happens, you need to get your Etsy reviews on your Shopify store.

Well, you can do that using the Shopify’s Product Reviews app or the Kudobuzz Review app.

Below is a step-by-step process by which you can import your Etsy product reviews to Shopify.

Getting Etsy Reviews To Shopify Using Shopify’s Product Review App

Step 1: Download App

The first step is to download the Kudobuzz Product Reviews & UGC App and get it installed. The app is free of charge so you need not worry about charges.

  3. Click on the “EXPORT” button.
  4. Go to the “DOWNLOAD REVIEWS” tab
  5. Download the CSV file

The CSV file contains any review you currently have.

Step 3: Get Your Etsy Reviews

Before you can get your Etsy reviews to your Shopify store, you need to retrieve your reviews at Etsy. Follow the steps below to get your Etsy reviews:

  1. Go to your Etsy dashboard page.
  2. Go to your Etsy reviews page which comes in the form of https://www.etsy.com/shop/YourShopName/reviews.
  3. On this page, you’ll see all your reviews.
  4. Highlight all the reviews you want to import to your Shopify store.
  5. Right-click on the highlighted area and copy.
  6. Paste your copied reviews into a spreadsheet.
  7. Repeat this for every page of reviews.

Step 4: Convert Spreadsheet to CSV File

You can only import your reviews to Shopify when they’re in CSV format. To convert your spreadsheet from STEP 3 to CSV, follow the manual process below:

  1. Do a product export in your Shopify store.
  2. Create product handles for your products.
  3. Assign each Etsy review to your Shopify product handle.
  4. After that, your Etsy reviews will be formatted as needed for Shopify.
  5. Save your spreadsheet as a CSV file.

Final Step: Import Your Etsy Reviews To Shopify.

At this stage, your Etsy reviews are ready in the CSV format. It’s now time to import it to Shopify. Follow these steps to get your Etsy reviews to Shopify:

  2. Go to “SETTING” and click on the “IMPORT” button on the upper right corner of the dashboard.
  3. Then select your CSV file from STEP 4.
  4. Click on “IMPORT REVIEWS” to get your Etsy reviews on Shopify.

Key Notes

This process can be quite complicated because of the manual steps involved. This complication can lead to mistakes. Imagine if you have over 1,000 Etsy reviews and deciding to get all these reviews to Shopify? It means you’ll have to go through 20 pages or more to copy and paste each set of reviews.

Another downside of this approach is that the process involved in converting your spreadsheet to a CSV file is quite a delicate process. It involves skillfully rearranging all the data in their required columns, and this can be cumbersome.

Note further that, any additional reviews you get from Etsy after this process will not appear in Shopify unless you go back and import your reviews using the same steps.
